Anxiety

This book, by Dr. Katharina Manassis, is a good start as far as basic reading about parenting a child with anxiety.  This book Is very helpful if your child has an anxious temperament or if they are more symptomatic.  The author emphasizes both empathy, so parents can understand what it is like to be anxious, and limit setting which helps the family maintain a balanced perspective when faced with behaviours and symptoms that can effect day to day life.

Sam Goldstein’s Book is the simplest summary of cognitive-behavioural strategies for you to use as a parent.  The book is written in a very simple way, and explains the basics of how to help your child cope with different anxieties.

This is a great book for a little deeper understanding of anxiety in children.  Also helpful is Tamar Chansky’s book:
