For a first person report of being 'atypical' I did like Nora Baskin's book Anything but Typical - suitable for children in middle school, or older


and finally for a great piece of fiction for readers over 10 through adulthood, try Mark Haddon's book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time - a mystery with the sleuth as a child on the autism spectrum:
